Dissimilar Uniqueness: Musical Character and the Self-Translation of Plainsong / Cantique des plaines by Nancy Huston
The writer in this work reaches an appaisement under the auspices of linguistic sincretism or bilingual writing. These factors result in a combination of French and English through the insertion within the French text of terms of her own language so as to recreate sonorous effects and thus characterize settings and characters.
