Keywords:
Turoldo’s Lamentation for Pasolini’s Death
The essay found inspiration from compianto, which David Maria Turoldo wrote for Pasolini’s death and which he dedicated to the poet’s mother and read at the poet’s funeral at Santa Croce Church, in Casarsa on November 6th 1975. It focuses on the figure of the poet, who like an emigrant returns to his mother-land and source of his poetry, for the last comfort to his wounded body. It is to this land that he brings back the human and cultural heritage he gathered during his travels from place to place, amongst multiple linguistic expressions to finally reach universal worth.
