This essay analyzes the works of Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda, a poet whose charm lies in the oscillation between a socially negated and unacknowledged identity and a propensity toward absolute feeling. This is what distinguishes the Romantic I who interprets reality and expresses it through the poetic experience.
