Abstract

Migrant Voices from Asia to the USA: Meena Alexander, an Indian poet in New York
Alexander’s poems are projections of the interior I that mingles experiences and sensations capable of reconstructing a story. Often inspired by particular situations, the poems are made up of images that dramatically reflect one another thereby amplifying the perspective. Time and space disappear into poiésis and the song extends into a mythical chanting that combines community and exile.
