Lo studio evidenzia le relazioni esistenti nella letteratura d’immigrazione, tra il cibo e l’identità culturale ed etnica della famiglia. Inoltre si sofferma ad analizzare le esperienze transculturali nel nuovo mondo che traggono forza vitale da valori, credenze memorie storiche della propria comunità d’origine.
Garlic, the most eloquent of plants, with the grace of a lily: Smells and Tastes in Canadian Ethnic Literatures
This essay examines how the relationship between food and the family’s cultural-ethnic identity is foregrounded in immigration literature. It also analyzes how the transcultural experiences of the new world are rooted in the values, beliefs and historical memories of the community of origin.
