Nell’intrecciarsi di racconti personali, in Come fili di seta (2009) di R. Jaber, si condensa, la storia americana, osservata ed interpretata attraverso gli occhi dei personaggi: la vita nelle regioni più remote del paese, la prima guerra mondiale, la propaganda e come la determinazione a credere nel futuro e sentirsi parte di una realtà nuova.
Amerika: A Syrian-American Epic
By intersecting personal narratives, R. Jaber’s Amerika condenses American history, observed and interpreted through the characters’ viewpoint: life in the most remote parts of the country, the Great War, propaganda, and resolution originating from a faith in the future and a sense of belonging to a new reality.
