Keywords:
Migration, Autofiction and Self-Translation in Cruzando el río en bicicleta by Ana Cecilia Prenz Kopušar
Three countries, three cities, three cultures and three languages are intertwined in Cecilia Prenz’s first work. Born in Belgrado, self-identified as Argentinean and resident in Trieste. The novel, first written in Spanish and published in Argentina in 2015, has been reissued in an Italian version (self-translated by the writer) by an independent publisher from Trieste. The two products, comparatively read, allow to investigate aspects that involve the author and her family’s experience of migration (or exile with some personal interpretative variations), of autofiction and of self-translation and, at the same time, the unique process of
awareness of the own identity, configured completely through the creative memorial.
