Tra le molteplici forme del migrare al femminile, alcune sono significative, altre curiose, altre drammatiche: tutte immettono in realtà storiche e sociali di epoche e di luoghi diversi in cui il viaggio è sempre elemento dominante per l’evoluzione personale. Accanto alla riproposizione di vecchie problematiche – sradicamento, nostalgia, integrazione, assimilazione – ne emergono di nuove collegate al fenomeno moderno della globalizzazione e del suo opposto, alla frammentazione dell’Io e del percorso vitale – e all’eccessiva localizzazione.
From Cardboard Suitcases to Trolleys
Several forms characterize women’s migration, they may be significant, curious, and dramatic, but they all share a trait: they intervene in a process of transfer in new social and historical contexts, different epochs, and places, in which travelling is always a dominant element in personal transformation. Along with traditionally problematic issues such as displacement, nostalgia, integration, and assimilation, new elements emerge as a consequence to globalization and its opposite, the fragmentation of individuals in their lives –, and to extreme forms of localism.
