Jorge Luis Borges, “Terremoto de Friuli” (¿?). Una ruptura literaria permanente
Keywords:
A Permanent Literary Change
This article presents a poem about the earthquake in Friuli called “El terremoto de Friuli”, that can be found in the web passed off as a work by Jorge Louis Borges. However, this text does not appear in the complete works by the Argentinian poet and experts strongly doubt its authenticity. This fact proves the astounding importance of this writer, whose relevance to modern times is constantly reaffirmed. Examples of this characteristic are the novel by Osvaldo Soriano La hora sin sombra (1997), the work by Alan Pauls El factor Borges (2004), recently translated into Italian Il fattore Borges (2016) and the-difficult to define-text by Ricardo Piglia Los diarios de Emilio Renzi (2014). Borges’ presence is essential in contemporary Argentinian literature.
